Dustin Rhodes has let his AEW contract expire, although he remains in negotiations to extend his current deal.

The ROH Tag Team and Six Man Tag Team Champion has been a constant presence in the company since its inception in 2019. The former WWE star wrestled Cody Rhodes on the first-ever AEW show. He lost to his brother in a five-star match at Double or Nothing 2019.

Since then, he has been an important member of the roster. He has worked tirelessly, training young talent while filling in wherever necessary. Dustin Rhodes recently won multiple tag team belts in ROH, teaming both with Sammy Guevara and the Von Erichs in huge victories.

Despite his title success, Dustin Rhodes has let his AEW contract expire. According to Fightful Select, the former WWE Superstar has not wrestled since his deal ran out in late September/early October.

However, it doesn’t look like he’ll be leaving the company. Despite Cody Rhodes’ gushing words about his brother, he remains in negotiation with AEW for a new contract. Dustin Rhodes looks to continue his busiest year in wrestling since 2020.

“Dustin Rhodes’ contract came up, but he hasn’t necessarily left AEW/ROH as of yet. Fightful Select reported that Rhodes’ deal with the company was set to expire at the end of September or the start of October. Rhodes has not wrestled for the company since then, despite being ROH Tag Team and Six Man Tag Team Champion.”

“Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp was able to confirm that negotiations between the two sides has been ongoing, but it was claimed that nothing was done as of yet. Rhodes has wrestled more matches in 2024 than any year he’s had since 2020. He’s on pace to have his busiest in ring year since 2018.”
