LA Knight is set to stay with WWE for the foreseeable future.

Throughout 2023, Knight became a breakout star as fans rallied around him. Knight challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WWE Crown Jewel. He remained a featured member of the roster heading into 2024. Knight’s rise continued at WWE SummerSlam, where he beat Logan Paul to win the WWE United States Championship.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) previously reported that LA Knight and WWE were in negotiations last year, but there was no deal, as they were far apart on money. However, in an update, Sapp reports that this changed in the summer months. He writes that Knight restructured and extended his WWE contract for a “large money increase.” This will see Knight stay with WWE for several years.

Sapp notes that Knight’s original deal was set to run into 2025, and sources say that “significant time” was added to it.

LA Knight On His Title Win

After his victory at WWE SummerSlam, Knight commented on winning the gold. At the WWE SummerSlam Post-Show, he noted that it may have been overdue, but it also felt right on time.

“Long overdue,” Knight said. “I don’t know if anybody could read lips out there, but most of the stuff I was saying, you probably can’t say right now because it was a lot of ‘F’in right’ and all that kind of stuff. It is long overdue, and you talk about the fact that maybe it’s long overdue, maybe it’s right on time. I don’t know, but at this point, it’s feeling like the right time to me.

“Because I think a lot of people, you look into the winter time, I see the talk and people are like, ‘I don’t know, I think LA Knight’s fallen off.’ Am I fallen off now? Because I think last night, when I walked out there and everybody got standing up, yelling, ‘LA Knight,’ new US Championship, we’re only taking off from here.”
