Matt Hardy’s AEW contract is reportedly set to expire soon.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Matt Hardy’s current contract is set to expire in March. Per Sapp, Jeff Hardy’s AEW deal was set to match the length of his brother’s contract. However, injuries and inactivity have prevented that from being the case, as there has been time added to the deal.
The report notes that Hardy and AEW were in contact recently about the deal, but there is no word on whether it is expected to be extended. Hardy, 49, has only had one match in 2024, but he frequently wrestled in 2023.
Hardy joined AEW in March 2020. During his time with the company, he has been featured as a singles wrestler, and he has also teamed up with Jeff Hardy. Matt also formed joined forces with Private Party and later Hardy Family Office before he eventually The Firm.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
