Omos is reportedly set to be in town for WWE Royal Rumble, and WWE has talked about having him in the match.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) has confirmed PWInsider‘s report that WWE plans to bring Omos to the site of WWE Royal Rumble. Per Sapp, his name has been discussed for the Royal Rumble match, but it has not been confirmed whether he will be in it. The report also notes that Omos impressed those in WWE with his run in NOAH.
Omos has not wrestled for WWE since the April 5th, 2024, episode of WWE SmackDown. There, he competed in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. He then had a run in NOAH, where he won the tag team titles. Omos announced that he was heading back to WWE at the NOAH event on January 25th.
WrestleZobe will provide more information as it becomes available.
MVP On Omos
MVP previously praised Omos while discussing the end of his own time in WWE. During a recent virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, he spoke highly of the giant. (H/t Andrew Thompson of POST Wrestling for the transcription)
“I don’t know what his status is now, I don’t know what they plan on doing with him but, I think if you can’t — a legitimate 7-foot-3-inch — he was 400 pounds,” he said. “I think last time I checked, talked to him, he’s like 385. His physique is changing, he’s getting in better shape. If you can’t make money with a 7-foot-3-inch, 385-pound basketball player that can move — you don’t see him move a lot because they don’t want him to. But when he wants to move, you’d be surprised how well that big man can move. If you can’t make money with that then you’re just an idiot.”
