Powerhouse Hobbs is set to be sidelined for some time due to injury, as he requires surgery.
On the April 24 episode of AEW Dynamite, Hobbs challenged Jon Moxley for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Moxley won the bout, and Hobbs suffered an apparent injury, which was later confirmed by Fightful.
In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Powerhouse Hobbs requires surgery due to the injury. Sapp writes that the procedure will be happening imminently, if it has not been done already. Hobbs’ injury was said to be significant, and he is not expected back soon.
Hobbs is a former TNT Champion, and he is a member of the Don Callis Family. There is no word on when he will be able to return to the ring.
