After being vehemently knocked back in their attempts to sign Dani Olmo earlier this summer, FC Barcelona have come up with a fresh offer for the RB Leipzig attacker.

Media reports suggest the Catalans have tabled a fresh bid of around €50 million, with an additional €10 million in the form of add-ons.

It has been reported lately that Barça have no desire to meet Leipzig’s staunch valuation of €60 million. To that end, a recent report from Mundo Deportivo has shed more light on why Barça are not willing to go beyond the €50 million mark for the services of Olmo.

Why Barcelona are not offering more than €50 million

The report confirms that Barcelona are clinging to their €50 million valuation for Olmo and do not wish to increase it further.

That is because the Catalans are aware of the fact that Olmo’s release clause is set to reduce to €50 million next summer.

It must be noted that the value of Olmo’s release clause stood at around €60 million, but the clause expired on July 20. Leipzig, though, have appeared willing to offload the player for the same amount this summer.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are looking to explore an agreement worth €50 million. The club are hoping to leverage the fact that Olmo himself is keen on leaving Leipzig this summer.

Not to mention, time is running out for RB Leipzig, who must not only offload Olmo but also sign a direct replacement. Keeping these factors in mind, Barcelona are hopeful of reaching an agreement for a lower valuation.

Leipzig, though, have appeared quite uncompromising as well and have yet to respond to Barcelona’s latest offer. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how things transpire in the coming weeks.
