A new report provides an update on former TNA X-Division Champion “Speedball” Mike Bailey and his contract status.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider previously reported that Bailey’s TNA contract expired on November 1. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) then reported that Bailey was believed to be AEW-bound. Johnson later reported that sources believed that he would debut in the Continental Classic, which begins on November 27.
Sapp has now reported a new update, stating that Mike Bailey going to AEW is the working plan. However, Bailey’s deal with TNA is not officially up. Per Sapp, Bailey’s deal is up at the end of the year, and this was reiterated to be accurate. However, the report notes that Bailey effectively finished up at TNA’s tapings in Detroit. Bailey was said to be able to talk to outside companies starting in November.
Additionally, Sapp writes that, barring some measure that would allow it, Bailey would be unable to work AEW’s Continental Classic because his TNA deal is not up yet.
