Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood has been linked with a move away from the club permanently this summer.

He was on loan at La Liga club Getafe last season and he was quite impressive for them. Greenwood needs to play regularly next season and Manchester United will not be able to provide him with that opportunity. A permanent exit from Old Trafford would be ideal for his development as well.

According to a report, from L’Equipe, the move to sign Greenwood will be very difficult. Marseille are struggling due to the lack of financial resources and they will have a limited transfer budget this summer. It will be interesting to see if they can get a deal done for the Manchester United Academy product.

Mason Greenwood would improve Marseille

He was outstanding in La Liga last season scoring 10 goals in all competitions. The 22-year-old is versatile enough to operate on either flank and he can slot in as the centre forward as well. Greenwood is still quite young and he is likely to improve with coaching and experience. He could develop into a key player for Marseille if they can get the deal done. His versatility will be an added bonus for any club that manages to sign him.

Manchester United need more attacking depth in the side, and it will be interesting to see if they can bring in the right reinforcements once the fringe players are sold. They will need to bring in a quality attacker who can play anywhere across the front three. Meanwhile, Greenwood has been linked with clubs from Spain and Italy as well. It will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
