A new report provides an update on Adam Cole, who has been sidelined with an injury for nearly a year.

Adam Cole has not wrestled since September 3, 2023. He suffered an ankle injury at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. Cole continued to appear on AEW programming, but his presence has been infrequent due to his recovery. He last appeared at AEW Double or Nothing, where he was attacked by the returning MJF.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Adam Cole was backstage at AEW Dynamite on August 14. Sapp writes that Cole had been taken off the road months prior, as travel was seemingly delaying his recovery. Before his absence, Cole had been the leader of the Undisputed Kingdom, which has continued to appear without him.

Additionally, Sapp writes that there was word backstage that Adam Cole was set to resume training as soon as next week, which comes as a positive sign for a potential in-ring return.

In May, Tony Khan said that Cole was not 100%, but he was getting better and better. Check out his comments here.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
