Report: Update On AJ Styles After Apparent Injury On 10/4 WWE SmackDown

A new report provides an update on AJ Styles after he suffered an apparent injury on the October 4 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Styles returned on Friday’s show; he had been absent from WWE programming since June. He faced Carmelo Hayes, and the match abruptly ended after Styles suffered an apparent ankle injury. WWE later announced that Styles suffered a mid-foot ligament sprain, and he would be getting an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.

In the Daily Update, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com reported that AJ Styes’ injury was legitimate and not storyline.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful then reported that people in WWE claimed that, “The flip where [Styles[ sold the knee was to be a work. The move where he landed on the knee was legit.” Sappthrn wrote that the word internally was that Styles was injured.
