A new report provides an update on Becky Lynch‘s status.

Fans have not seen Becky Lynch on WWE television since May 27, when she lost to Liv Morgan on WWE RAW. Her contract expired on June 1, so she entered free agency. Fans started buzzing after Lynch said that it had been a “helluva career” and that being The Man was an honor in an Instagram post on August 4.

Given the wording in the post, some fans wondered whether Becky Lynch was retiring.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that, per WWE sources, if Lynch had retired officially, they had not been informed, and they did not believe that she would retire on social media. But one source noted that Lynch was not under a deal with the company, at least to their knowledge. Therefore, she could retire without notifying the company.

Additionally, Sapp writes that WWE sources have said that Becky Lynch is enjoying her time off, and they wanted to be respectful of her space. Furthermore, it was stressed that Lynch would always be welcomed back. Per Sapp, Lynch was planning on taking some time off when her contract expired. The report notes that both sides believed that she would return when and if the time was right.

Seth Rollins previously said that he could not speak to Lynch’s future. Check out his comments here.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
