Brock Lesnar’s return had reportedly been planned for WWE Royal Rumble, but he did not appear on the show. A new update suggests that it may be a long time before Lesnar appears on WWE programming again.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer previously reported that Brock Lesnar was set to return to WWE programming soon, likely at WWE Royal Rumble. The premium live event came and went without him. Plans for the former champion were seemingly nixed after he was implicated in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that the reports regarding plans for Brock Lesnar being scrapped are true. Per Sapp, Lesnar had been planned for WWE Royal Rumble, but that changed in the wake of the lawsuit.
Meltzer reported that Bron Breakker effectively filled Lesnar’s spot in the Men’s Royal Rumble. He eliminated the same people Brock was initially set to. Sapp confirmed this report. He also confirmed POST Wrestling‘s report that Lesnar was set to face Dominik Mysterio at WWE Elimination Chamber. Sapp also states that the plans changing came in response to the lawsuit

Additionally, Sapp writes that Brock Lesnar was discussed as a potential opponent for Gunther at WrestleMania 40. However, he notes that the match was not discussed as much throughout the weekend. Sapp cites one WWE source who said that it could be a long time before Lesnar appears in WWE again, barring a drastic change.
Brock Lesnar last appeared at WWE SummerSlam 2023, where he lost to Cody Rhodes.
