A new report provides an update on Ilja Dragunov, who has been sidelined with an injury since September.

Dragunov, a former NXT Champion, suffered a torn ACL in September. This came a few months after Dragunov moved to the main roster, as RAW selected him in the 2024 WWE Draft.

Corey Brennan of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Ilja Dragunov is seemingly getting closer to a return, as he has been spotted training at the WWE Performance Center. Per Brennan, sources noted that Dragunov was not there for rehab; instead, he was participating in traditional training ahead of his in-ring return, and he was not wearing gear related to his injury. The report also states there is no word regarding any plans for Dragunov’s return, or if he will be returning in the immediate future.

WWE previously announced that Dragunov was set to miss six to nine months due to the torn ACL.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.

Ilja Dragunov On His Style

Draguniv previously commented on his physical in-ring style. Speaking with Metro.co.uk, he noted that he thought his family hated it.

“I think my family hates my wrestling style. Literally, until this day, my son didn’t see one match of me. He’s seven, and he’s going to turn eight this year. So, because I know what I do in that ring, and I know how I do that, it would be a bit too much for a seven year old to understand. He’s going to need a bit more time until we get to that point.”
