We finally have a long-awaited update on the status of former AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter.
Jamie Hayter suffered an injury during the April 19, 2023 episode of AEW Dynamite, when she and Britt Baker defeated Toni Storm and Ruby Soho.
Hayter was champion at the time and didn’t compete again until Double or Nothing on May 28 when she dropped the title to Toni Storm in an incredibly short match. Since that night her status hasn’t been really clear beyond the fact she wasn’t expected back that year.
Well over a year later as we approach the second All In in London, we finally have an update on Jamie Hayter’s status and her potential return to All Elite Wrestling.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), Hayter was backstage at Dynamite in recent months for a physical. There is a feeling inside the company that there is “some positive movement” towards her overall recovery. So much so, that some talent have had matches pitched to them that would involve Hayter when she returns.
People that Sapp has spoken to in AEW are confident that she’ll be able to return to the ring but there’s still no timetable known at the moment.
