A new report provides an update on John Cena potentially appearing at WWE WrestleMania 40.

John Cena returned to WWE for a prominent run in the fall of 2023. He had received permission to do so during the SAG-AFTRA strike. Cena has not made a live appearance on WWE programming since he lost to Solo Sikoa at WWE Crown Jewel in November.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote about Cena’s status for WrestleMania 40 and noted that it largely depends on his acting schedule. The report noted that there has been some talk of Cena making an appearance. However, he likely would not be able to do anything that could be deemed a risk. Meltzer stated that if he is involved with the show, the idea is for him to do something “fun, short, and memorable.” (H/t Joseph Currier of F4WOnline.com)

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.

In January, Cena provided an update on his in-ring future. Check out his comments here.
