Kenny Omega will return on the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite. However, don’t expect to see him get physical.

Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has been out of action since December due to diverticulitis. Tony Khan has said that Omega has been really sick. Omega himself has noted that he likely won’t be able to get physical any time soon. However, Omega will appear on the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that, per sources, Kenny Omega is not expected to return to in-ring action in the immediate future. Sapp writes that it looks like Omega has “a ways to go” with his recovery.

The report notes that Omega was added to the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite to increase ticket sales, among other things. Per Sapp, early indications were that Omega would address the aftermath of The Elite attacking Tony Khan, but that has not been confirmed.

Tony Khan commented on Kenny Omega’s absence at the AEW Dynasty post-show media scrum. Click here to see what he had to say.

WrestleZone will have full coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on Wednesday.
