A new report provides an update on AEW star Killswitch, also known as Luchasaurus, after he was hospitalized.

On September 30, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that Luchasaurus was hospitalized after he was found collapsed at his home. He was taken to the hospital, and it was reported that he was on oxygen, as he had pneumonia in both of his lungs. Initial estimates noted that he would be able to resume training in approximately a month. However, he has reportedly suffered a setback.

Bryan Alvarez discussed the situation on Wrestling Observer Live, and he noted that there were complications with Luchasaurus’ recovery. Alvarez said that Luchasaurus was not back in the gym and would be unable to resume training, let alone wrestling, for a while. He expressed the hope that the AEW star would be able to return to wrestling.

Furthermore, Alvarez noted that Luchasaurus is apparently at high risk for a relapse, and there was concern about possibly permanent damage. He noted that Luchasaurus had to take more tests, but he still had to do oxygen despite being out of the hospital. Alvarez also said that he would be unable to travel for 4-6 weeks, and he would have to see a specialist. He reiterated that this was a serious issue. (H/t Ian Carey of F4WOnline.com)

Based on this update, Luchasaurus’ future as an in-ring competitor is unclear. He is a former AEW TNT Champion, Tag Team Champion, and Trios Champion, and he has been with AEW since 2019.

WrestleZone wishes Luchasaurus well in his recovery, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
