Chad Gable and Natalya are both dealing with WWE contracts that are set to expire soon, and a new report provides an update.
As previously reported by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), Chad Gable’s WWE contract was set to expire shortly after the beginning of June. In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer then reported that WWE made Gable an “excellent offer,” and AEW was interested in him as well.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports an update by writing that they are under the belief that Chad Gable is “extremely close or has come to terms with WWE”. In other words, he is set to continue with the company. Johnson notes that it is not a 100% confirmation. However, sources noted that everyone is working under the impression that he is staying.
Chad Gable is a former NXT Tag Team Champion. He has also held the tag titles on RAW and SmackDown. In recent months, Gable has been featured as the leader of Alpha Academy. Gabe has been feuding with Sami Zayn for a number of weeks. He is set to challenge Zayn for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WWE Clash at the Castle on June 15.
Update On Natalya’s WWE Status
As for Natalya, Johnson writes that one source noted that the situation could be described as “getting done.” As with Gable, it has not been confirmed that she has agreed to a new deal. Johnson writes that they are told that there was “some time left.” Natalya is a former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion. She has been with the company since 2007.
This report comes after Johnson wrote that Ricochet gave WWE notice of his intention to leave the company when his contract expires this summer.
