WWE RAW’s Netflix premiere is shaping up to be a major show.
WWE will begin a new era when RAW moves to Netflix. The premiere has been confirmed for January 6, and WWE is likely to go all out for the show. As previously noted, John Cena is set to be there.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that the Netflix premiere is expected to be a “big show.” Sapp cites a longtime WWE employee who noted that it would likely be one of the biggest episodes of RAW in WWE history, from a standpoint of buzz.
WWE sources described the situation as the show being talked about early on as being the quality of a premium live event. Per Sapp, WWE views the Netflix move as the company’s next leap in popularity. There’s no word on specific plans, but sources reiterated that it is expected to be a major show. Sapp reports that fans can expect talent from SmackDown to be booked, but that has not been factored in yet.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
