Bandits reportedly carried out a deadly assault in Zurak village, Bashar District of Wase local government area, Plateau State.
The fatal attack claimed the lives of more than 40 persons, including vigilantes.
The attack transpired around 5:00 pm on Monday, catching the community’s residents off guard as they went about their daily routines. Hindered by the region’s poor communication infrastructure, the residents were unable to promptly report the harrowing incident.

Residents of the village have fled to neighboring communities for cover. As of yesterday, security personnel had not yet arrived at the community. It was deadly.”
