It’s looking increasingly likely that Manchester United will offload Jadon Sancho before the transfer window slams shut next Friday.

Whether that be on a loan or permanent basis remains to be seen, but Juventus are reportedly finalising a proposal which would see them take the winger on a season-long loan, during which they will make a contribution to the player’s £250,000-a-week wages.

The Turin-based outfit is currently seen as the most probable destination should Sancho depart, although Chelsea are said to be mulling over a final-week move for the 24-year-old.

Last Friday, Sancho was absent from United’s matchday squad for their Premier League opener at home to Fulham. Erik ten Hag cited an ear infection as the reasoning behind his omission, but The Athletic has now revealed it was ‘ultimately a selection call’.

In response to being dropped, the forward was heard ‘reaffirming his desire to leave’. He was in attendance at Old Trafford and was even amongst his teammates ahead of the evening kick-off, yet couldn’t be spotted watching along with other sidelined players – such as Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro – in the directors’ box.
