Some of the most popular rivalries in WWE involve either friends or family members. One such rivalry is the one between the Mysterios. WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik Mysterio have been feuding with each other for a while. The two have battled each other twice at the Grandest Stage of them all, WrestleMania. One was a singles match and the other was a tag team match. On both occasions, the Master of the 619 got the victory.
Recently, while speaking to Peter Rosenberg on his Cheap Heat podcast, Rey Mysterio reflected on his rivalry against his son. He also mentioned that if there is a chance for having one match between the two, then he is down to fight again.
“So, I don’t think that when a father fights with their son or daughter, fights with mom, that’s family. That always stays there. That’s never going to go away. So, eventually, I think if… Uh… If the papers are turned and if it’s time for us to walk around the corner and we bump heads again, and we have to go at it one more time, let’s do it.”
Mysterio also would love to have a tag team run with his son.
“That’s something that as a father, they always would love to have with their kids. Its… To be able to reconnect. And end of how you started on the good side. So, I don’t know if that’s going to happen. But over the years, people change. Sometimes for good, sometimes for bad. Hopefully, one day Dom can see the bright side of being on the Mysterios’ side. And just being family overall. But I think that’s going to be very hard. I’m dreaming. I am just dreaming,” Rey Mysterio said.
