Rhea Ripley is not sure how she’ll react in Perth.
This Saturday’s WWE Elimination Chamber will mark the company’s first premium live event in the country since 2018. It will serve as a homecoming of sorts for Adelaide’s Rhea Ripley, who will defend her WWE Women’s World Championship against Nia Jax.
While speaking to Cathy Kelley on The Bump, Ripley noted that she is not sure how her body will naturally react on Saturday when she makes her entrance before thousands of fans in her home country.
“I don’t know. I feel like my nerves are so wishy-washy sometimes, like I don’t know how I’m going to feel,” Ripley said. “Knowing that I’m home as well, just know that I would — well, hopefully — get such an amazing reaction from the Perth crowd, from the Australian crowd, it makes me feel proud, happy, nervous, elated, everything. All the emotions all in one.
“I just don’t know how I’m going to react to that on the day. I don’t know if I’m going to get emotional like Zelina Vega in Puerto Rico. I don’t know if that’s going to happen to me. I don’t know if it’s going to make me zone in more to the point where I don’t see anything else but Nia. I’m not sure how my body is going to naturally react, but I’m very intrigued to see what happens.”
