'RHOBH' Alum Kim Richards Placed on Psychiatric Hold After Substance Abuse Relapse (Report)

Kim Richards has reportedly relapsed after years of sobriety.

On Friday (Sept. 27), it was reported that the 60-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum got into a nasty dispute with her sister Kyle Richards earlier this week after she was reportedly placed on a psychiatric hold, according to TMZ.

Keep reading to find out more…Law enforcement reportedly showed up at a home Kyle, 55, owns in the Los Angeles-area on Wednesday night (Sept. 25) after a neighbor called in hopes of getting Kim removed from the property. The neighbor was reportedly worried about Kim‘s behavior.

Kyle had reportedly let Kim live in the house, but she moved out a while ago. However, Kim showed up again at the house on Wednesday.

Law enforcement claimed that Kyle told them that she didn’t want Kim in the house because the family had allegedly cut her off in hopes for Kim to get sober again. It’s unclear when Kim allegedly relapsed.

The police reportedly explained to Kyle that it was a civil matter and that she had to file an eviction notice. Kim reportedly still remains in the house.

In a separate incident from early September, law enforcement told TMZ that Kim was allegedly “incoherent” while at a Hilton Hotel in L.A. Kyle was reportedly there with Kim when the police were called. When they arrived and asked Kim to leave, she allegedly refused.

Kim was then reportedly placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold and taken by ambulance to a hospital.

It appears the incident at Kyle‘s house took place after Kim was released from the hold.

As viewers of RHOBH recall, Kim has very publicly battled substance abuse issues for years. Back in 2011, Bravo stepped in to pay for Kim‘s rehab stay.

In 2019, Kyle credited Bravo for saving Kim‘s life, saying on The Jenny McCarthy Show, “If anything, being on the show made her accountable and she says that as well.”

“She says that it saved her life because you know, there’s nowhere to hide and everyone knows — now anywhere she goes, people know who she is,” Kyle added. “She can’t get away with anything! So it actually helped her!”

Kyle has not yet addressed the situation with Kim.
