Kyle Richards has admitted that despite her split from her husband, Mauricio Umansky, the couple are very much still living under one roof together.
While it may be uncommon to live with your estranged partner after calling it quits, it seems as if this arrangement is working just fine for the pair.
Kyle Richards Confirms She’s Still Living With Mauricio Despite Split
On the ‘TODAY’ show on Wednesday (February 21), the host quizzed Richards about her current standing with Umansky.
While fans have been following the drama on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, neither one of them has actually confirmed whether a reconciliation was out of the question.
Richards previously refused to use the word “divorce” when discussing her separation from Umansky.
Understandably, some fans started to speculate if the couple, married since 1996, still had a chance to save their marriage.
Now, she’s made it known that while they aren’t together anymore, they still happen to sleep in the same house… just not in the same bedroom.
“The current status is we live under the same roof. It feels so funny to talk about this,” the reality star said, per Daily Mail, jokingly adding that she felt like she was talking to a therapist after being asked the question.
“We live under the same roof in different rooms. We are fortunate enough that we have other homes. He comes and goes, and when we are all there, it’s sort of like… if he is there for dinner, great!”
It’s an unconventional arrangement, but it seems to be working for them, at least for now.
Richards also noted that she and Umansky have a “big family” between them. The TV personality has four children, three of whom are with the real estate mogul: Sophia, Alexia, and Portia.
So, for them, it’s not just a matter of filing the divorce papers and moving on with their lives.
Kyle Opens Up On Why The Couple Decided To Separate
Richards shared that the decision to part ways was not an easy one by any means.
But there were things in her marriage that she wasn’t going to tolerate. Kyle admitted that she became adamant about that following the passing of her friend, Lorena Shea, who died by suicide in 2022.
“I lost my best friend,” she expressed, I think that does change you and makes you look at things differently. I think that had a big part in it, definitely. But just… you know… what you are willing to accept and not accept. It’s hard because it’s not like there was one big thing, we love each other very much and have a lot of respect for each other and that makes it harder to make a decision like that.”
It was just in December when Umansky was spotted partying it up with Brazilian singer Anitta in Aspen, Colorado.
Mauricio and Anitta embraced one another as they danced on tables and poured alcohol over fellow party-goers. Umansky was noticeably shirtless.
The businessman also shared photos of him on Instagram Story. He was accompanied by the pop star and a female friend, Lele Pons, as they embarked on a skiing trip.
Meanwhile, Richards was in Punta de Mita, Mexico. The RHOBH star was enjoying a solo vacation with a few of her female friends.
“Sometimes we just need to escape reality for a bit,” she captioned a photo taken from her vacay.
The Shade Room previously reported that Richards later joined Umansky and their kids in Aspen to spend Christmas as a family.
