Ready to add some bada-bing to your beauty look?
The “mob wife” trend is taking over TikTok, with scores of social media users reaching for furs, animal prints, loud logos and even louder lip colors lately.
And lifelong Jersey girl Margaret Josephs knows a thing or two about nailing the viral aesthetic.
“I can’t believe this ‘mob wife’ thing is a trend, because I never thought it went out. This is the way I’ve always looked!” the “RHONJ” star tells Page Six Style.
But for those new to the world of smoky eyes and statement lashes, fret not; Josephs sat down with us to demonstrate how she gets her “old-school, sophisticated, boss look” from start to finish, using products from Laura Geller.
Below, learn how to achieve her “Sopranos”-style glam at home — and remember, practice makes perfect.
After all, as Josephs puts it, “Mob wives are pretty flawless. If they’re not flawless, don’t tell them — they’ll be livid. You don’t wanna piss us off.”
Step 1: “Get the glow on”
Margaret Josephs treated Page Six Style to a “mob wife” makeup tutorial. Brian Zak/NY Post“I have to have that glow going, because mob wives love a little tan. You don’t want to look pale,” Josephs says while applying the brand’s Double Take Liquid Foundation ($38). “You always need that nice Italian glow.”
Next, she applies the Ideal Fix Concealer ($26), letting the “nice and creamy” formula do double duty as highlighter.
“I like to look a little bright under the eye; most mob wives aren’t that young,” she jokes.
Then, Josephs contours around her hairline, cheek and jaw using the Italian Marble Bronzer Stick ($34), quipping that she goes light on the latter area: “My jaw’s pretty snatched because I had a facelift.”
Step 2: “We love a smoky eye”
You’re never fully dressed without a smoky eye. Brian Zak/NY Post“It’s strong, it’s sexy, it’s dark, it’s mysterious,” Josephs says of her go-to eye look, created using the Ultimate Baked Eyeshadow Palette ($49 $29).
She recommends starting with a “pale base” and then building from there, using darker hues to add drama before lining underneath her eyes with the Kajal Longwear Eyeliner ($22) and “smoking it out.”
Finally, before and after putting on her lashes, Josephs adds a coat of Kajal Longwear Mascara ($24).
Step 3: “I don’t know if you can look too bronzed”
“Looking bronzed and glowy is important,” Josephs says. Brian Zak/NY PostNext, Josephs accentuates her cheeks — first with Baked Bronze-n-Brighten Multipurpose Bronzer ($36), then with Serum Blush Cheek Tint ($28), the latter dotted only on the upper cheek. (“You don’t put blush down low. I hate that,” she asserts.)
She tops things off with Baked Natural Glow Highlighter ($24) on both her cheekbones and the tip of her nose.
“Looking bronzed and glowy is important,” she says.
Step 4: “Nice and lined” lip
Whether you prefer red or pink, a statement lip is a must. Brian Zak/NY PostJosephs finishes off her beauty look by lining her lips with Modern Classic Waterproof Lip Liner ($19).
“I don’t go all the way into the corner, because I don’t want to drag my lip down [as a] woman of a certain age,” she says. “And I’m not gonna say what that age is!”
A slick of Modern Classic Matte Lipstick ($21) tops things off — and now you’re ready to grab your fur coat, your jewels and your sunglasses and take care of business.
Don’t forget your fur! Brian Zak/NY PostJust don’t forget that when it comes to getting “mob wife” style right, it’s all about the attitude.
“A mob wife, on the inside, is someone who has a lot of confidence, can own a room and just can wake up and seize the day,” Josephs says. “Kill it, ladies!”
