WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair made an appearance on FOX News’ “Watters World” show hosted by Jesse Watters last night. The segment promised insights and advice for US President Joe Biden, generating considerable buzz leading up to the interview. However, what unfolded seemed to lack coherence and purpose.
FOX News had been promoting Flair’s appearance for nearly 24 hours, teasing his supposed “advice” for President Biden. Yet, once the interview commenced, it became apparent that the conversation meandered without a clear focal point.
Watters kicked off the segment by airing clips of President Biden’s past speeches juxtaposed with recent instances where the President appeared to stumble over his words or make factual errors. The transition from this to footage of Flair engaging in his trademark theatrics seemed abrupt and disjointed.
Upon being welcomed by Watters, Flair was asked for his thoughts on offering advice to President Biden. Flair’s response initially hinted at advocating for a display of strength from the United States but quickly veered away from political commentary. He quipped about his reluctance to discuss politics or women in a bar, before clarifying that he meant politics or religion, but was happy to talk about women.
“No, not really. But, I think we need someone who shows strength. We need somebody to say, “Hey, we are the United States. Kiss my ass!”
When asked if he would ever consider running for President himself, Flair responded with a humorous anecdote about his past ambitions, jokingly citing concerns about his “skeletons in the closet” overshadowing any potential candidacy.
“No, but I should have run for Governor in 2001. But, they said I had too many skeletons in my closet. Imagine that! I’d make Trump look like a baby.”
The segment concluded with Flair reciting his iconic catchphrase, punctuated by a few trademark “WOO” exclamations.
It’s worth noting that Ric Flair has been associated with political rallies in support of figures like President Trump and Herschel Walker in recent years.
