An official statement has yet to be shared on his Instagram account and his representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

However, podcaster Adam Grandmaison, known as Adam22, shared a photo of them together on his Instagram Story to commemorate him.

Fellow rapper Boosie BadAzz also appeared to confirm his death by sharing a message on X. “JUST TALKED TO YOU BRA 😓 #tipQUAN Never go forget yo smile n the way talked n of course yo music 💯,” he penned.

He also claimed he “got word” that Quan died from an overdose.

Quan’s official cause of death, however, has not yet been revealed. He was 34.

The Atlanta-born musician — whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar — struggled with substance abuse in the past and was charged with felony drug possession with the intent to distribute in 2017.

However, the case was dismissed in 2019 due to a lack of evidence, as reported by TMZ at the time.

Quan’s career kicked off in 2013 with the release of “Some Type of Way,” which reached No. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100.
