Richard Gere Lands First Major TV Role in Showtime's 'The Agency'

Richard Gere is heading to Showtime!

On Monday (July 1), it was announced that the 74-year-old Pretty Woman actor has joined the cast of the upcoming espionage thriller series The Agency alongside previously announced stars Michael Fassbender and Jeffrey Wright.

Here’s the show’s synopsis: “The all-new political thriller follows Martian (Fassbender), a covert CIA agent, ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart; hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage,” according to THR.

The upcoming show marks Richard‘s first major TV role! Over the years, he’s appeared in a few miniseries and has made guest appearances on shows.

The Agency, which is a new take on the French drama Le Bureau, is currently in production in London.
