Richard Keys has been talking about Newcastle United once again.

Nice of him to take an interest…

No surprise that it is a negative when Richard Keys mentions our club.

Richard Keys writing on his personal blog – 8 April 2024:

“I noticed Newcastle posted another dressing room pic following their titanic win at…..Fulham.

“The win must’ve felt good.

“Not many pick up three points there.

“The Toon were only the sixth team to do it so far this season.

“Well worth a celebration pic eh?”

This is the photo that Richard Keys is referring to from Saturday…

Newcastle United Team Dressing Room Celebration

Funnily enough, when Newcastle United put out this photo on their social media following the win at Craven Cottage, it wasn’t aimed at Richard Keys, nor indeed any other outsider.

The Newcastle United Head Coach introduced this tradition of a post-match everybody included photo following each victory, as he felt it had worked as a bonding exercise when he was at Bournemouth.

Great to see. It is also a massive bonus just how much it winds up fans of certain outsiders, such as… Richard Keys.

The response from non-Newcastle fans is usually along the lines of…

‘Look at them, think they have won the Premier League / Champions League…’

Richard Keys using sarcastically the belittling ‘titanic’, as in, winning against Fulham isn’t anything exceptional.

The thing is, Eddie Howe has this done after every single NUFC win and so, this is the 20th such photo this season.

The fact is, the NUFC Head Coach, his staff, the players, work all week towards what happens on a matchday in the 90+ minutes, so why not celebrate the fact when that hard work culminates in the team winning their match. Also, all the Newcastle United fans, especially the thousands who travelled for the game despite yet more obstacles in terms of problems with trains, why shouldn’t we have each and every team win enhanced as much as possible?

The thing is as well, it’s not like Eddie Howe does this in order to put himself out front and central, indeed, anything but. He pushes others to take the limelight, including / especially the backroom staff and those players who don’t necessarily play regularly.

All for one and one for all, from each and every player AND the coaching staff and backroom boys and the photo each time Newcastle United are victorious on the pitch.

I absolutely loving it.
