Ricky Starks discusses his team with Big Bill and their nixed match with Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega.

Ricky Starks and Big Bill joined forces last fall, and they went on to beat FTR to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship. They have retained the title several times since then, but Starks admits that the duo is somewhat up in the air, as they were not meant to be a team in the first place.

Speaking with Blake Oestriecher of Forbes, Ricky Starks reflected on the beginning of his pairing with Big Bill.

“When we first got together, I don’t think anyone expected how things ending up turning out,” Ricky Starks said. “It’s still kinda up in the air…I don’t really know what it holds for me because we weren’t supposed to be a tag team.”

Ricky Starks On Kenny Omega

Starks and Bill were set to face Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega at AEW Worlds End, but the match was nixed due to an injury to Omega. Starks noted that he wants to face Omega, but he has had bad luck with naming his dream matches.

“I’ve publicly gone on record and said how much I want to wrestle Kenny Omega, and maybe I need to stop doing that because every time I talk about someone I want to wrestle publicly, it changes.”

“I had someone ask me my goal and I can’t tell you because every time I make one it changes immediately.” Starks added, “I would love to say I have goals, but I really don’t. Obviously, I’d love to be AEW World Champion, but every time I make a goal, it never ends up going the way I had envisioned it. So, I think I’m gonna try something different.”

WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on January 31.
