Ricochet has taken to gloating on social media following his victory over Swerve Strickland last night.
In the main event of AEW Dynamite, Ricochet took on Swerve Strickland in a long-awaited match. Swerve looked like he had the win, but Ricochet hit him with a low blow and Spirit Gun to pick up his biggest win in AEW yet.
Speaking in a promo posted by AEW on Twitter, Ricochet gloated about his victory over Swerve Strickland on Dynamite last night.
The former WWE Superstar said the win wasn’t just him getting one over Swerve Strickland. Ricochet also sees it as a win to all the fans who have mocked him over the past few months.
“I told you so! I told you so! I told everybody that this was going to happen, and that it wasn’t just for Swerve, this is for each and every one of you,” he said. “Everyone out there who thought it was okay to mock, and harass, and bully me. You know what? That’s okay. Because you know the old saying, right? To the victor goes the spoils, and boy, do I feel spoilt right now! AhahHAA!”
Ricochet: I’m Not The Sole Reason, But There Is No AEW Without Me
Ricochet thinks that there would be no AEW without Ricochet.
While speaking on 103.5 KISS FM’s Hot Tag with Brady, he claimed that if he was not a part of the wrestling business then there would be no All Elite Wrestling. He believes that his work in the past paved the way for AEW to thrive in the wrestling world.
“I’m not saying I’m the sole reason. I’m just saying. If there wasn’t Ricochet, there wouldn’t be AEW. I’m not saying I’m the sole reason that it happened, but I am saying, what I have done with Ospreay, with PAC, with AR Fox, with Dragon Gate, with PWG, with everything. Overseas. New Japan. Everything I’ve done in my past career helped set up a world where AEW can exist. I’m not saying it’s just me. It’s me, it’s the Young Bucks. It’s Kenny Omega. It’s Ospreay. It’s everybody. I’m just saying, without Ricochet, there would be no Ospreay, really. You know what I’m saying? All of us guys are passionate and without that there would be no AEW,” Ricochet said.
