Actor Rimi Sen had purchased an expensive Land Rover car worth ₹92 lakh in 2020. However, the car has caused her trauma and she has sued the company for ₹50 crore. According to TOI, the Dhoom actor has filed a complaint against the company for selling a defective car. Now, she is demanding compensation of ₹50 crore for the mental harassment she endured during the repair. She has even asked for an additional ₹10 lakh to cover legal expenses. Sen also seeks to replace the defective car.

As per the complaint, Ms Sen bought the car in 2020 but couldn’t use it due to the COVID-19 lockdown. But after the lockdown, she started using the vehicle extensively and allegedly encountered numerous defects. These included issues with the sunroof, sound system, and rear-end camera. In her complaint, Ms Sen claimed that on August 25, 2022, the rear-end camera malfunctioned which led to the car colliding with a pillar. After numerous complaints, the company has been ignorant, discourteous and ill-mannered towards the problems.

Rimi Sen talks about her complaint against the automobile company

“I was absolutely disappointed with the car company and its services. Worst was their attitude towards their customer.” Talking about one of the incidents where her rear camera was not functional, she added, “I bumped into a pillar, but it easily could have been a human being. And no amount of money or anything could have saved someone’s life. Their negligence could have cost someone’s life. It was life-threatening. I could have easily been in a fatal accident. I’ve demanded 50 crores as compensation, and I absolutely deserve it for all the trauma that I endured. I hope I get justice. My lawyers, Pushpa Ganediwala & company, are looking after it.
