To kick off the Elimination Chamber premium live event in Perth, Australia, Indi Hartwell had a match in her home country. Hartwell and Candice LeRae challenged for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against the champions The Kabuki Warriors.
The warm welcome from the crowd did not disappoint with chants for Hartwell from the moment she stepped out into the stadium. The match itself was produced very well and if it was against any other team Hartwell and LeRae would have probably walked out as champions.
The final moments of the match had LeRae going up top for a tag team maneuver with Hartwell as Kairi Sane pulled Hartwell out of the ring causing LeRae to fall in the ropes. Asuka then set up LeRae to receive the InSane Elbow as the Kabuki Warriors retained. Hartwell and LeRae would stay in the ring after the match to soak in the love from the crowd.
Another woman who was making her homecoming was the Women’s World Champion, Rhea Ripley. She faced Nia Jax in the main event.
Jax would take control early in the match. She executed a Samoan Drop from the second rope, and then frog splash which gave her a near fall. The action would spill to the outside, where Jax would put Ripley through the announce table. Back in the ring, Jax delivered an Annihilator but Ripley kicked out at two.
The final moments included a Superplex and a Riptide to keep Jax down for the count of three.
In a WWE Exclusive, Ripley gets emotional backstage in an interview where she talks about returning to her home country and main eventing.
