EXCLUSIVE: Rob McElhenney has launched More Better Industries, a multi-faceted company which encompasses three dynamic entities: More Better Productions, More Better Advisory and More Better Ventures. He has appointed Jackie Cohn as the head of More Better Productions.
She previously ran television at Red Hour where she developed and executive produced Severance for Apple TV+, which earned fourteen Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series. Cohn was also an executive producer on Apple TV+’s High Desert starring Patricia Arquette, the CW’s In the Dark, worked on Comedy Central’s hit shows Another Period and Big Time in Hollywood, FL, and executive produced the independent romantic comedy Plus One.
The company is a film, television, and multimedia company that expands upon McElhenney’s unique approach to worldbuilding by creating, developing and producing bold, human stories. More Better Productions has rapidly become a creative hub expanding across numerous genres and media platforms including HBO, Amazon, and Netflix, with over thirty film, television and docuseries in development.
In the wake of Welcome to Wrexham’s success, they are also building a slate of high-end scripted and unscripted sports content centering on the company’s core mission to uplift and enrich people’s lives through humor, heart, and community across the globe. More Better is already in business with some of the most exciting creative forces in the industry including Ryan Reynolds, Larry David, Elliot Page, and Nzingha Stewart, to name a few. More Better Production’s goal is to provide access and support to the next generation of creatives in the same spirit of the generosity McElhenney received in his early days in the industry.
More Better Productions and McElhenney recently made their Sundance debut with the company’s produced pilot Me/We, an Episodic Pilot Showcase official selection. Wrexham AFC: More Better provides commercial, brand partnerships and operational services to the now globally-renowned Club – which is at the center of the five-time Emmy winning series Welcome to Wrexham on FX. This scope of services includes building out the pathway to monetize and further commercialize Wrexham AFC Women’s team.
Ally Bank: More Better serves as a marketing partner for Wrexham AFC, and recently announced its historic sponsorship of Wrexham AFC Women to help bring the club to the U.S. for the first time this summer, with dates and matches to be announced soon.
Four Walls: For the popular Irish American whiskey brand from McElhenney and his Always Sunny In Philadelphia co-stars Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day along with CEO Casey McGrath – More Better Advisory secured Series A Financing with investors including Kevin Durant’s 35 Ventures and Chase Utley. More Better provides operational advisory services and creative marketing and production services to the brand to strategically grow its presence globally. Examples include an ongoing partnership with Wrexham AFC, including a historic integration into the the Club’s stadium with the recent ‘Fourth Wall’ Kop Stand and McElhenney sharing a drink with Prince William during his St. David’s day visit.
More Better Advisory is led by Chief Strategy Officer Kelsey Trainor. Trainor has worked as a lawyer and operational leader in TV, sports, and entertainment. She has served as in-house counsel for Abrams Media, where she oversaw legal and business affairs for numerous websites, podcast networks, TV/film productions and development, book publishing, and a live 24/7 news network. She also served as Vice President Business & Legal Affairs for a sports-betting media startup co-founded by Kevin Garnett.
