After sharing a picture of him with the Reynolds image, the supporter's image was viewed over 260,000 times and liked over 1,100 times.

Along with the many Wrexham fans, he received a reply from McElhenney that simply said: "Address please," with a producer of the 'Welcome To Wrexham' documentary, Bryan Swarberg, getting in touch via DM.

Fast-forward just a couple of weeks and the reason for the 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia' creator's message has become clear.

The Wrexham fan, named Michael, shared a second image to X on January 11, this time with him stood between two large cutouts with some Four Walls Whiskey - a drink co-founded by McElhenney - the Wrexham co-owner sent a cutout of his own to the supporter's house.

But unlike Reynolds' dapper image, McElhenney is sporting a scruffy white vest and beard, an image captured when he deliberately put on weight to be 'Fat Mac' in a storyline on his hit sitcom.

Written in his post, Michael said: "After I posted me and my cutout of @VancityReynolds, @RMcElhenney asked for my address and this came today in the post.

"I was in stitches when I opened this hopefully get to meet ya both at a game someday to say thanks."

That image was reposted by McElhenney, who replied saying: "Love it!
