Rob Van Dam confirms that he is under a WWE Legends Deal.

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam wrestled for AEW several times in the second half of 2023 and into the first few months of 2024. He has also made appearances for WWE. RVD appeared in the crowd on the September 13 episode of WWE SmackDown. He then noted that he filmed some interviews as well.

In a recent interview with the Cheap Heat Productions Podcast, Rob Van Dam commented on his experience working with AEW. He noted that he was under a Legends Deal with WWE. (H/t Andrew Thompson of POST Wrestling)

“The first time that I talked to Tony Khan about doing this (working with AEW), a factor was that I still have a WWE Legends deal,” he said. “So, my use to AEW would be limited as far as they can’t put me on video games, action figures, stuff like that. So, you could say it’s limited on both ends or you could say I got both ends going, best of both worlds. Or you could just say RVD does whatever he wants.”

RVD last wrestled for AEW on the April 20 episode of AEW Rampage. There, he beat Komander, Isiah Kassidy, and Lee Johnson. There is no word on his future with the company.
