Rob Van Dam did not have much notice for his appearance on WWE SmackDown.
WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam was shown in the crowd on the September 13 episode, which was the season premiere. Vickie Guerrero, Teddy Long, Ron Simmons, and other legends were also shown in the crowd.
Rob Van Dam detailed how his appearance came together while speaking on his 1 Of A Kind podcast. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)
“How about that,” he said. “RVD just pops up wherever he feels like. It’s part of being the Whole F’n Show. It was an invite that happened, not with a lot of notice at all. It was awesome to be there. They showed some legends in the crowd. It was cool to be part of that. Katie came because, one, she loves WWE. Two, she loves RVD. It was cool to have her by my side as well. Otherwise, I would have had my arm around Teddy Long or something.”
RVD On Not Having Much Notice
Rob Van Dam was asked how much notice he had, and he said that he was told on Wednesday.
“It was one day notice to fly out,” he said. “Wednesday, ‘Sorry about the short notice. You have to leave tomorrow. Are you available on Friday?’ I was.”
RVD also said that he did some interviews for some content, and other legends did as well.
“I did some interviews for some…I don’t know if it’s going to be a DVD,” he said. “I think it might be a Netflix release. I’m not really sure. We all did. We all took turns doing interviews.”
