Manchester City have possibly the best squad in world football and they have some players that Manchester United would love to have.

Pep Guardiola has brought some amazing talent to the Etihad Stadium over the years with the assistance of director of football Txiki Begiristain, and the supporters have had the opportunity to enjoy some of the best football in the world.

Good recruitment and having a manager like Pep Guardiola at the club has helped Man City to dominate world football in recent years.

United would love to be in City’s position right now but it’s going to take some years to get to that level.

Robbie Savage has named the Man City player he would sign for Man United if he had the chance. Surprisingly, it’s not Erling Haaland.

Chris Sutton questioned Savage during his appearance on BBC 5 Live’s 606 Football Phone In, asking him who, in the role of sporting director at Manchester United, he would sign.

Savage said: “Who would I go for for Manchester United? Well I would go for Kevin De Bruyne but I’m not going to get him am I?! You’ve got to aim high!”

Most people would name Haaland as the dream signing for Man United but Savage chose the Belgian international midfielder instead.

Kevin de Bruyne has been in the news for his game-changing performance against Newcastle United at the weekend.

The midfielder came from the bench and completely turned the game around with the Premier League champions losing at St James’ Park. He scored the equalising goal and provided the assist for the winner.

Guardiola branded De Bruyne a ‘legend’ after his special performance against Newcastle.

Any team in the world of football would be lucky to have De Bruyne. He is the best player in his position and, at this point in time, may be considered one of the all-time great midfielders.
