Robert Downey Jr is back in the MCU but not as Ironman; actor’s Doctor Doom appearance for Avengers: Doomsday gets mixed response

Marvel Cinematic Universe has been introducing more new movies that are leaving the internet on its toes. After seeing the return of Logan aka Hugh Jackman in Deadpool & Wolverine, the MCU has now revived another superhero and he is none other than our very own Ironman aka Robert Downey Jr. Yes, RDJ is back to the MCU but wait, he has not returned as Ironman but as Doctor Doom. Only recently, Robert Downey Jr announced his return to the MCU as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.

On Sunday, he took to his Instagram and dropped a photo and a video from Hall H revealing that he is going to be Doctor Doom. Captioning the post, he wrote, “New mask, same task.” Right after the announcement, fans were overjoyed to see him back in the MCU but some were confused to see him back. The reason behind this confusion is that Doctor Doom is a villain and fans wonder how the makers will show a hero a villain in Avengers Doomsday.

Robert returns to MCU as Doctor Doom

Given that the MCU was boosted due to Ironman’s success, fans are upset to see them turning a hero in nine movies into a villain in the next part of Avengers. Moreover, Tony and Doom have a deep relationship. They are arch-rivals but they are frenemies. Fans are confused to see how they will showcase RDJ as a villain.

Some were confused with this announcement as one commented, “I’m so pissed off and in shock right now. How can they turn my Superhero into a super villain. This is so not right. I need time to accept this.” There was one more who wrote, “I need time to accept this too I’m so confused not sure how I feel.
