Robert F. Kennedy Jr. allegedly cheated on his wife, Cheryl Hines, with New York Magazine’s political correspondent Olivia Nuzzi.
“The nature of some communications between myself and a former reporting subject turned personal,” the jouranlist, 31, admitted in a statement Thursday night without naming the former 2024 presidential candidate, 70, who dropped out of the race last month.
Nuzzi insisted, however, that their relationship was not physical.
Nuzzi admitted to the relationship Thursday. Olivia Nuzzi / FacebookSources told The Post that the reporter and the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy allegedly sexted while she was engaged and he was married.
Following her admission, New York Magazine announced in a note to readers that Nuzzi has been put on leave.
“Recently our Washington Correspondent Olivia Nuzzi acknowledged to the magazine’s editors that she had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures,” the publication said in a statement.
“Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign.”
The magazine shared that “no inaccuracies nor evidence of bias” was found in an internal review of her published articles.
“She is currently on leave from the magazine, and the magazine is conducting a more thorough third-party review. We regret this violation of our readers’ trust,” the outlet concluded.
RFK Jr. has been married to Hines, 58, since 2014.
The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” alum has not publicly responded to the news.
