Robert Lewandowski has made a bold prediction about FC Barcelona’s return to action after the October international break.

The Blaugrana recorded a dominant 3-0 victory at Alaves to extend their lead at the top of the table to three points. Lewandowski continued his own streak of good performances in the Basque Country, with a hat-trick, to take his goal tally to ten league goals so far in 2024/25.

The veteran striker will now join the Poland squad, but he is confident the return to domestic action will see Barcelona step up a gear.

Robert Lewandowski sees an even stronger Barça

“I’ve never played so many matches in a row with only two days off in between. These days of rest will be good for the team, not for those who leave for the national team, but for the team”, according to the words of Mundo Deportivo. “There are also several injured players who will return at the break. I am convinced that after the truce we will be even stronger than today. »

Lewandowski is expected to play his 155th match with Poland, who host Portugal on October 12, before a second match in Warsaw, three days later against Croatia. Barcelona will then return to La Liga at home against Sevilla on October 20, before hosting their former team, Bayern Munich, in the Champions League on October 23.
