EXCLUSIVE: The cast for ESX Entertainment’s horror title The Necklace keeps mushrooming with Nip/Tuck and Pretty Little Liars actress Roma Maffia joining.

Already cast in the Juan Pablo Arias Muñoz directed, Ali Afshar executive produced movie are sisters Madeleine & Violet McGraw (respectively from M3GAN and The Black Phone), Henry Thomas, Sarah Lind, Felix Solis, Jacob Moran, Christina Moore and Brynne Kurland.

The Necklace centers around the Davis family who are dealing with tough times in 1960. Laura Davis has separated from her husband Frank due to his unpredictable temper, fueled by alcohol. As Laura returns to work as a nurse, her daughters, 11-year-old Ellen (Violet McGraw) and 16-year-old Judy (Madeleine McGraw), grapple with the changes in their family dynamics. The plot thickens when Frank attempts to win Laura back with a beautiful antique necklace, which turns out to be a conduit for the tormented soul of an evil boy from long ago, putting Laura and her daughters in grave danger.

Maffia will play Beatrice, a psychic who works for the police from time to time, and who agrees to help out Laura Shaw and her daughters with their mysterious necklace.

Maffia played the smart, no-nonsense anesthesiologist, Dr. Liz Cruz, on the hit FX and Golden Globe winning drama, Nip/Tuck. The actress started her career performing off-Broadway, off-off Broadway and in regional productions ranging from Shakespeare to Sam Shephard. At a benefit reading for the New Group in New York, she was asked by casting director Jane Jenkins to audition for a role in director Ron Howard’s feature film The Paper. A run on Chicago Hope follows on which Maffia played Adam Arkin’s secretary, Angela. Other roles include Barry Levinson’s feature take of Michael Crichton’s bestseller, Disclosure, John Badham’s Nick of Time, opposite Christopher Walken and Johnny Depp; Eraser with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Double Jeopardy opposite Ashley Judd.

Maffia’s additional feature credits include I Am Sam, Kiss the Girls, Holes, Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her, Yonkers Joe, and Kingshighway.

Other TV credits include four seasons on NBC’s primetime series Profiler as well as TV movies Consensual Relations for NBC; HBO’s Mistrial with Bill Pullman; and Showtime’s The Defenders. Maffia had recurring roles on NBC’s Law & Order and ER.

Maffia is repped by SMS Talent.

Daniel Aspromonte and Christina Moore are producing The Necklace, with Violet McGraw, Madeleine McGraw, Jackie McGraw, and ESX Entertainment’s Afshar serving as EPs. John Ducey (A Hollywood ChristmasThat’s Amor) wrote the screenplay.
