Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes had a heated confrontation on WWE SmackDown.
Roman Reigns came to the ring at the end of the March 22 episode of WWE SmackDown. He noted that he came alone, as promised, and he called out Cody Rhodes. “The Tribal Chief” then stated that Cody was a fool, he was stupid, and he was not fit to be the face of the company. He pointed to Rhodes’ alliance with Seth Rollins and noted that Rollins stabbed him in the back as he questioned whether Cody could trust him.
Cody responded by recalling how he and his brother beat Reigns and Rollins back during their Shield days. He referenced Bullet Club and noted that he was familiar with factions. Cody noted that Rollins may hate him, but he hates Reigns more. He then questioned whether Reigns could trust The Rock, his partner at WrestleMania 40.
Reigns fired back by saying that was old, as Cody had said that. He called Rhodes a politician and said that he never delivered on his promises, as he lied to the people. Reigns said that Cody was the greatest number two of all time, but that’s all he would ever be. He said that he would be number one forever.
Rhodes ended his message by saying that he was not number two, he was the one who would beat Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
Cody Rhodes’ Allies Come To The Rescue
Roman Reigns then backed away from a handshake. Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa came out of the crowd, and they were about to attack Rhodes before Seth Rollins and Jey Uso arrived. They stood tall with Rhodes, and the two trios stared each other down as SmackDown came to a close.
