Roman Reigns has seen his family bonds shatter to pieces amidst his rise to the top as WWE’s flagship star of the modern era. One of them has evidently been his estranged cousin, Main Event Jey Uso who currently is a prime attraction on RAW away from The Bloodline.
Jey Uso is scheduled to battle his own brother, Jimmy Uso at WrestleMania 40. The rivalry between the two twins began last summer when Jimmy sided with The Tribal Chief and aided him in his match against Jey for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title.
During recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Reigns was asked about who he was rooting for between Jey and Jimmy at their clash at WrestleMania 40, while also addressing the Main Event one’s betrayal towards his family.
“I’m rooting for Big Jim. He’s my only family. Jey made his choice. How do you walk away from the dream? How do you walk away from the promised land? It’s disrespectful. He’ll tell you, his life hasn’t been the same since. If you can’t play your role and fill the shoes you’ve been provided, we have to excommunicate you. Sink or swim. He’s doing okay, but it only takes [finger snaps], we send the word.”
When McAfee remarked that it was a significant statement, suggesting that Roman Reigns might order an attack on Jey, Reigns clarified that he would not do that, but could definitely put his WWE career on hold while also reminding that it was their classic rivalry in 2020 that cemented Jey as a top singles star.
“I would never kill my cousin, but I would put his career on hold if we want to. We got the juice. Who saw it first in him? Who was the first one and took a chance on Jey? I did. I put the equity in him. I’m the one that took from my account and deposited into his account. That’s what 2020 was all about. Building the Bloodline, but also putting equity into my family, the people that I love.”
The Tribal Chief himself has a lot on his plate for WrestleMania coming up in Philidelphia in less than two weeks. He is set to team up with his iconic cousin, The Rock to collide against the team of Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins and The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes on Night 1 of the show, with high stakes involved for his title defense against Rhodes in the main event of Night 2.
With Jey Uso siding with Rollins and Rhodes against his family, it would be interesting to see if gets involved in the bout that can see his brothers, Jimmy and Solo interfere on behalf of The Bloodline.
