Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes had a tense meeting on WWE SmackDown.
On the September 13 episode of WWE SmackDown, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns had a heated showdown, but they also agreed to team up and face The Bloodline at WWE Bad Blood.
Reigns and Rhodes then met up at Georgia Tech to find common ground, and footage of the meeting played on the September 20 episode of SmackDown. Reigns walked onto the field at the football stadium, and Rhodes approached him. Reigns noted that the whole stadium was his, as he recalled his football career at Georgia Tech. He told Rhodes that this was his city, and he questioned what Rhodes did for his city.
Rhodes responded by bringing up some of Atlanta’s landmarks and noted that multiple generations of his family had bled in the city. He said that Atlanta was his home. Reigns replied by saying that they should get down to the facts. He told Rhodes that he was in a lose-lose situation with The Bloodline. Reigns recapped what The Bloodline had taken from him. He said that he didn’t have anything to lose, and there was no weight on his neck. Reigns said he was a man with no country.
Cody Rhodes’ Message To Roman Reigns
Rhodes said that Reigns was a chief without a tribe. He told Reigns that WWE had a “tribal chief” and a WWE Champion, and it wasn’t Reigns. Rhodes said that if he couldn’t beat his own Bloodline, he was just the guy they used to call Roman Reigns. Rhodes said that he wanted Reigns’ word that he would have his back so that he could have his.
Reigns gave him his word. However, he said that when it was all said and done, he was taking back what was his. Rhodes said that it was not his to take. Reigns told Rhodes that he was in his way in life.
Reigns attended Georgia Tech and played football there; he was an all-ACC defensive tackle. Meanwhile, Rhodes is a Georgia native.
