Dutch coach Ronald Koeman has just stated that he did not at all enjoy his experience on the FC Barcelona bench.

Current Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman has admitted that he didn’t really enjoy his time in charge of FC Barcelona.

Koeman made the statement when reacting to Xavi’s resignation last week. He stated : “It is much more fun to be a Barcelona player than a manager and Xavi, as a Catalan and son of the club, will surely have noticed that.”

For Koeman, Xavi was not ready

“It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I suffered from pressure and stress,” continued the Batavian. Stress that was apparent when he bled in the middle of a press conference.

Regarding Xavi, he also said: “He had only been to Qatar and was catapulted to Barcelona. He was not used to criticism, he had only received praise.”

Koeman also said that the press “points a gun at you.” “If things don’t go well, it’s the coach’s fault. I too suffered from the same pressure,” he concluded.
