Ronaldo, the terrible images!

It’s a grimace for Al-Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo after the elimination in the Asian Champions League. An incredible miss from “CR7” in front of goal panicked social networks.

Well ahead in the title race in the Saudi Pro League (Al-Hilal is 12 points ahead with 11 days remaining), Al-Nassr was eliminated from the Asian Champions League on Monday evening, losing to the penalties in the quarter-final return against Al-Aïn (3-2, 1 tab to 3), a United Arab Emirates team with much less talent.

Cristiano Ronaldo shook the net again, equalizing from the penalty spot at the end of extra time (118th), before scoring his shot on goal, unlike Marcelo Brozovic, Alex Telles and Otavio, who all missed! But “CR7” also stood out by missing a huge opportunity three meters from the goal after a ball pushed back by the opposing goalkeeper.

No Club World Cup for Ronaldo

We then played the 61st minute of the match and the score was 2-2, a week after Al-Ain’s 1-0 victory. It was Alex Telles who tied the score ten minutes later (72nd), but Al-Nassr was unable to score a fourth goal to qualify for the last four.

The Al-Nassr of Ronaldo and Sadio Mané will therefore not win the Asian LDC (Marcelo Gallardo’s team would have been outsiders in the semi-finals against Al-Hilal, the imposing leader of the Saudi Pro League). The five-time Ballon d’Or will therefore not be at the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States.
