Ronda Rousey wishes she wrestled when Triple H was in charge of the WWE.
The bulk of Ronda Rousey’s time in the company was under Vince McMahon‘s reign as WWE Chairman. She didn’t do badly during this time, however. In her first year in the ring, she wrestled Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania, won the women’s title, then became one of the first women to main event a WrestleMania.
However, she has been outspoke in recent months about the WWE, particularly with Vince McMahon being in charge. Ronda Rousey recently spoke with Denise Salcedo, where she expressed her desire to work under Triple H in the company.
She added that she’s heard “incredible things” about Triple H running the WWE. Ronda Rousey revealed she came back for her brief run last year because of that.
“Part of me wishes that the time I was wrestling had been during the Triple H era. Not the Vince era. Because Triple H was the one who believed in me from the very beginning. I’ve been hearing incredible things about how he’s running things now. But it was such an experience—I can’t even describe it. I came back to WWE because of how great that experience was.”
“I was only supposed to be around from WrestleMania to Survivor Series. Just as something to do before I had a baby. It felt like something that had to be done, like it was a calling, and I couldn’t not do it. I loved it so much that I ended up doing it for an entire year and even came back right after I had my baby.”
Ronda Rousey Explains Why Wrestlers Get Addicted To Performing
Ronda Rousey continued. She spoke about how she fell in love with wrestling, and why people fall in love with the sport.
“It’s something you just fall in love with. Once you’re out there, you forget all the shit and the anxiety of trying to put things together. The whole process that was needlessly stressful. When you’re out there, believing in the story, and the crowd is in it with you, believing it too, there’s no feeling like that. That’s why people get addicted to it, and they keep doing it until their bodies fall apart because it’s such an incredible feeling.”
“I’m so lucky that I got to experience that on the biggest stage, with people like Kurt Angle helping me out with my debut. It doesn’t escape me how lucky I am.”
