Former English footballer Wayne Rooney believes that Jurgen Klopp has a big responsibility for Liverpool’s decline.

Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney believes Liverpool have been affected by Jurgen Klopp’s upcoming departure announcement. According to him, the German should never have revealed his intentions so early in the season.

The Reds’ season has collapsed over the last three weeks. Salah and his teammates let the three competitions they could still win slip away (Cup, PL and Europa League), by failing one after the other.

“Klopp’s decision impacted his players”

After Liverpool’s defeat at Everton last Wednesday, Rooney gave his opinion on the rout : “The players followed the example and saw this as a way to leave. Maybe they’re already talking to other clubs, we know these things happen. Maybe he (Klopp) has been discovered. In my opinion, he should have only spoken about it with the club, but if anyone had found out, it would have been known and so he had to announce it.

“I’m not saying Klopp is to blame. I’m just thinking about the timing of the announcement. I think it had a strong impact on some players in the team.”added Rooney on the microphone of SkySports.
